Fdu Admissions Essay For Suny

Recommended Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Freshman:

Applicants must have graduated from an accredited secondary school or have received a General Educational Development (GED) Certificate.

  • 4 units of English
  • 3 units of science (2 units of laboratory science minimum)
  • 3 units of college prep mathematics (such as Algebra I & II and geometry)
  • 2 units of history
  • 1 unit of foreign language (2 recommended)
  • 4 units of electives (at least 3 should be academic in nature)

Some majors have additional academic requirements. See the online academic bulletin or call the Office of Admissions at 800-338-8803.

Important Deadlines for Freshman Applicants

Fairleigh Dickinson University is on rolling admissions and accepts applications for admission throughout the year as space permits. Students are encouraged to note the following:

Dec. 1 - FDU's Priority Application Deadline.

Jan. 15 - Priority Consideration for maximum merit-based scholarships

May 1 - Enrollment Deposit Deadline to secure a place in the new class! To live on campus, submit the housing deposit and complete the housing application by May 1.

Freshman Application Checklist

  • An Application for Undergraduate Admission
  • A $40 non-refundable fee (payable to Fairleigh Dickinson University). NOTE: This fee is waived for students who file an online application.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation.
  • Official SAT or ACT standardized test scores.
  • Official transcripts from all high schools attended.
  • Personal Essay on a topic of your choice optional.
  • Personal Interview optional.

1. Apply online at www.fdu.edu/apply. The application fee is waived for online applicants!

2. Apply using Common Application.

3. Complete a paper application. To request a paper application by mail contact the Office of Admissions at 800-338-8803 or email admissions@fdu.edu.
