This part is still brief, approximately one page in length. a. Area of Focus o The purpose of my study is to find a better way to teach math concepts to young children. This will help the youth at early ages develop a concept of adding, counting, subtracting and more. The goal will be to meet the needs of the students. b. Explanation of Problem o Some children demonstrate few skills in mathematics, they seem to be unmotivated to attempt new tasks or even complete any math assignments. c. Define Variables o The daily class consisted of six students, a teacher, and teacher assistant. Two students of the six are ten, one student is six, two students are nine, and one student is eight. All the children attended a Montessori school and two ten year old children will be leaving to attend their six grade year at another school. The head teacher has been teaching for about 15 years.
